Sensory Play

Do you want to include sensory play at home but you’re not sure where to start? Here are some easy tips for creating hands on play for your child with items you already have!

  1. Sensory play doesn’t need to be something fancy. You can use dried beans, rice, pasta or simply soap and water! Children love to explore textures and these are some simple ways to do that.

  2. Use a large container for sensory play. An under the bed container is the perfect size to use and is easy to store when done too!

  3. Add some tools into sensory play. If you’re using water, grab a medicine syringe. If your child likes to scoop or pour, add some kitchen utensils and mixing cups!

  4. Sometimes it can be even more fun when you join in too. Get down on the ground and dig into play with your child, I promise it will put a smile on his or her face.

Have you tried sensory play at home yet? I would love to hear how you do it!
